With international design training, a deeply personal approach and a focus on making Florida homes both beautiful and enduring, Claudia Leah has grown her Naples studio from an unknown franchise into a seven-figure interior design business serving discerning homeowners.

Luxury interior design is often described through the language of aesthetics: beautiful fabrics, custom furnishings, dramatic spaces and carefully considered details.

For Claudia Leah, however, the real measure of a successful home begins somewhere else.

How well does it work for the people who live there—and how well will it hold up over time?

That philosophy has shaped Claudia Leah Design, the Naples, Florida, interior design studio she built after taking on a new Decorating Den Interiors franchise in 2009. What began without brand recognition in the local market has grown into a seven-figure boutique design business, with more than 400 clients served and projects ranging from renovations to large estate homes along the Naples coast and in prestigious country-club communities.

The business today reflects a very deliberate idea of luxury: not simply how a home looks, but how effortlessly the entire experience comes together.

A Global Design Education

Leah's approach to design began long before she arrived in Florida.

Growing up in Germany, she was surrounded by craftsmanship. Her mother was a master tailor, her father an architect and her grandfather an expert carpenter. Those influences gave her an early appreciation for materials, construction and the relationship between design and function.

She later studied at the Parsons School of Design in Paris, while living and working in the city for five years. Travel across Europe, Asia, Africa, India and the Caribbean further broadened her understanding of architecture, culture and the different ways people inhabit spaces.

When she moved to Naples, she brought those experiences into a very different environment.

Florida presented its own design realities—from intense sun and humidity to salt air and the practical demands of coastal living.

The opportunity was to combine sophisticated design with materials, furnishings and construction decisions that could withstand that environment.

Starting Without a Name in Naples

In 2009, Claudia and her husband acquired a Decorating Den Interiors franchise with an ambitious goal: to bring high-quality design to Naples while maintaining a level of personal attention homeowners could actually feel.

The starting point was anything but established.

There was no existing brand recognition in the Naples market, and the original goal was modest: serve around 20 clients in the first year.

The business eventually moved far beyond that target.

Today, Claudia Leah Design says it has served more than 400 clients, including homeowners relocating to Naples from the Midwest, Canada and Europe. Many are entering a new phase of life—building or renovating a Florida residence without necessarily understanding the local construction and climate considerations that come with it.

That created a natural role for Leah beyond traditional decorating.

She became the person helping clients navigate the entire process.

Designing Around the Reality of Florida

For homeowners arriving from another part of the country—or another country altogether—the challenge is not simply choosing a sofa or colour palette.

A Florida home has to work within its environment.

Claudia Leah Design has built its offering around this reality, providing full-service interior design for new builds, renovations and furnishing projects. The firm coordinates with a vetted network of contractors, tradespeople and craftspeople while personally overseeing key stages of the process.

Its services include whole-home renovations and new builds, luxury furnishings, interior detailing and custom window treatments.

Leah's window-treatment expertise is particularly specialised. She holds a rare certification as a window treatment specialist and personally oversees installations, bringing technical considerations together with the visual design of each space.

The result is a design philosophy that treats durability and livability as part of luxury—not compromises to it.

The Business Behind the Beautiful Rooms

The studio's competitive advantage is also operational.

Every project is personally led by Leah, supported by a trusted local network. Clients can access a private showroom featuring trade-only fabrics, trims, wallcoverings and furnishings, while the business benefits from the buying power of the broader Decorating Den Interiors network.

For a homeowner, that translates into fewer vendors to coordinate, fewer sourcing decisions to manage and a more controlled project.

Leah's multilingual ability—she works in English, German and French—also gives her an additional connection with an international client base.

Her proposition is ultimately about reducing friction.

The homeowner should not have to spend months coordinating contractors, chasing deliveries or wondering whether individual selections will work together.

The designer takes responsibility for the complexity.

Turning a Boutique Firm Into a Seven-Figure Business

The growth of Claudia Leah Design is particularly notable because the company has retained a boutique structure while scaling its business.

The studio reports achieving Chairman's Circle status within Decorating Den Interiors, placing it among the organisation's top 10 owners on a yearly basis. Leah has also served for eight years on the company's Leadership Council, advising the corporate team on marketing decisions and representing franchise owners' interests.

Her influence extends beyond her own studio.

For 16 years, she has also been involved with the Downtown Networkers chapter of Business Network International, where she has held leadership responsibilities. The firm's submission says she currently leads its “Thank You for Closed Business” standings, with close to $300,000 in business referred to other members during the year.

It is another indication of how Leah views business building: relationships are not simply a source of leads; they are part of the infrastructure through which businesses grow.

A Process Designed to Remove Uncertainty

Perhaps the clearest expression of Leah's business philosophy is the studio's process.

The work begins with a discovery conversation focused on how the client wants to live in the home.

An exploratory trade day then allows Claudia and her team to assess the property, its condition and the project's scope before major decisions are made.

The design direction is presented through visual layouts, materials and samples, with the firm's process designed to enable approvals efficiently. Detailed documentation then translates those decisions into specifications for contractors and suppliers.

Finally, Leah and her team provide installation and on-site oversight.

It is a carefully constructed customer experience.

And that matters because luxury clients are not necessarily buying more choices.

Often, they are buying less uncertainty.

Building a Reputation Through Trust

The studio's positioning has resonated particularly strongly with high-net-worth homeowners in communities including Mediterra, Grey Oaks, Tiburon and Park Shore.

Many clients are relocating from elsewhere and need someone who understands both their expectations and the realities of Florida construction and coastal living.

Leah's philosophy is straightforward: exceptional design should protect the client's time, investment and lifestyle.

That idea helps explain why the business has evolved beyond a conventional decorating service.

It is selling expertise, coordination and confidence alongside the finished interior.

The Next Chapter of Livable Luxury

Nearly two decades after opening her Naples business, Claudia Leah has built something more durable than a collection of beautifully designed rooms.

She has built a business around a particular definition of luxury—personal, practical and designed to last.

Her international background provides the aesthetic foundation. Her Florida experience provides the local knowledge. Her network of craftspeople and contractors provides execution. And her hands-on involvement keeps the boutique character of the firm intact.

The next challenge is not simply to make more homes beautiful.

It is to continue proving that elegance and endurance can belong in the same design brief.

For Claudia Leah, the most successful home may not be the one that makes the strongest impression on the day it is photographed.

It may be the one that still feels beautiful, functional and unmistakably personal years after the designer has left.

That is the kind of luxury Claudia Leah Design is building in Naples.
